On Saturday 11 December 2021, Hamilton will turn 150 years old. No mean feat in the scheme of things! Curious Legends is working with Hello Hamilton, Newcastle City Council, Hudson Street Hum, Port of Newcastle, and a whole HEAP of great artists to bring life and colour to this event!

Beaumont Street Celebrations – 9:30am to 12:30pm

On Saturday morning, Beaumont Street in Hamilton is coming to life with fun, colour, sound, and JOY! We’ll have Bush Clowns from Curious Legends, chalk artist extraordinaire Alex Wegner from Sketch It Live, Super Heros from the awesome Hunter Heroes, the dulcet, sweet sounds of the Julie Logan Music Carolers (cnr of Jmaes Street Plaza and Piggott’s Corner from 9:30am), and of course – Santa! Great live music and FREE coffee vouchers (yep, you heard that right) are on offer, so rock on UP people!

Go to the Hudson Street Hum in the afternoon for a Trash Creatures workshop with Yvette Ten-Bohmer! Get messy and creative making Trash Creatures from recycled materials!

CURB – 5pm to 9pm

Then… in the evening, join us for the launch of our new outdoor festival show, Curb! The culmination event of Hamilton’s 150 Year Celebrations, Curb is a performance for children and their families. Exploring Trash, loneliness, and what to do if you’ve lost your Peel, our Giant Banana is getting its own cameo! Join the crew from Curious Legends for another outdoor, fun, family friendly, event!
