In December of 2014, Curious Legends brought Puppy Patch to the Hunter Street Mall in Newcastle. Mayhem, mischief, masks, and lots of energy exploded into life with 9 puppies and 2 old dogs. It was dog-gone fun!

A collaboration between Mitchell Reese (Curious Legends), Ross Brown (Dark Side Masks), the City of Newcastle’s Make Your Place program, and kids from Mayfield East Public School, Puppy Patch was a performance that explored masks, pop-up theatre, and what happens when 9 excitable pups hit the streets of Newcastle.

With original costumes made by Gabby O’connor, Masks by Ross Brown, and a whole lot of energy, Puppy Patch was crazy fun. Made possible through Newcastle City Council’s Make Your Place grants program, we were proud to present this new work of pup-up theatre for Newcastle audiences! See below for footage of the performance and rehearsal process.
