On February 16, 2019, Curious Legends brought this inspiring story to Newcastle. Created in collaboration with the Hunter Indian Community and Chakras Dance, The Tiger, the Holy Man, and the Jackal was an ancient tale brought to life through giant puppets, shadows, dancers, video projection, and a unique soundscape.
2 huge shadow screens and a giant illuminated tiger featured next to some of Newcastle’s most talented Indian dancers. A live performance workshop for community participants was run on the night, with 50+ people joining in the opening of the performance.
Namaste Indian Restaurant & Retro Kombi provided food next to stalls from the Indian community, while the inspiring Chakras Performing Arts were involved not only in our performance, but also featured their dancers in a series of performances before the show. The whole event became a vibrant festival atmosphere, with our performance of this tale from the Indian Panchatantra at the close.
Thanks to everyone who joined us on the night!
