Performances Pobblebonk Adored by kids and adults alike, Pobble is our 6 foot tall puppet inspired by the Eastern Banjo Frogs native to Melbourne. With his oversized banjo and crazy antics, Pobble draws crowds both young and old hopping along behind him. A delight for all ages, Pobblebonk is available as either a roving performance, or an interactive storytelling show based on traditional folklore from the frogs. Using a variety of traditional wooden masks from Indonesia, the audience become the performers themselves! Featuring West Javanese performer and dancer Jayadi Paembonan, Ritus Mask is an inspiring multicultural performance celebrating street theatre in all it's diversity. Using puppetry, dance, live music and theatre, Curious Legends sweeps the audience away on a journey where magic is everywhere... For more information, and to see this show live, CLICK HERE. Stage Performance Length: 35 minutes Ages: 4 to 12 plus older family Cost: $750 Workshops Curious Legends offers workshops in theatre crafts and performance at festivals. See below for our current selection. Age specific, they are able to be customised depending on your needs. Please contact us for more details, and if you have a specific theme you'd like us to work with! Masks Alive! Everyone loves to transform, with this workshop we help them do it! In Masks Alive, we take kids on a journey of discovery through creating and performing with masks. Working with artists from our theatre company, kids discover the magic of theatre as they create and decorate their own masks, then perform with them! All materials provided, kids take home the mask they've made. Masks Alive Workshop Length: 1 hour Ages: 5 to 12 Maximum Numbers: 40 kids Location: Indoors or out Cost: $300 Masks Workshop Table Set up as a rotating crafts table, this activity goes hand in hand with our Masks Workshop. Working with professional artists from Curious Legends, kids and older family will discover the joys of theatre through crafting their own performance mask. All materials are provided. Also available as a stand-alone activity, masks and materials can be themed to suit your fesitval. Contact us for more details, and prices. Masks Workshop Table Length: Minimum 3 hour booking Ages: 5 to 95 Maximum Numbers: 270 people over 3 hours Location: Indoors or out Cost: $100 per hour, plus materials fee* *(Materials fee is $65 per hour for a free public event, or $1.50 per person to participate. I.e., if the public pays, then our fee is $100 per hour. If it's a free public event, $165, etc.) Works in Progess... Curious Frogs A roving performance showcasing acrobatic frogs, this street theatre show will be ready in mid 2010. Aimed at a family audience, 2 tumbling frogs dance and balance on each other as they inspire festival goers with crazy acrobatics. Perfect as an environmental message, both frogs are native Australians learning how to adapt and earn a living in our modern urban environment. The kids had a great time, and got to take something special home with them too. The Mask Workshop crafts table was also well received, especially from parents, as it kept a larger group of children entertained for longer.
